Fanaa (English: Destroyed) is a 2006 Hindi-language romantic thriller film directed by Kunal Kohli and produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. Aamir Khan and Kajol appear in the film, which also has Rishi Kapoor, Kirron Kher, Tabu, and Sharat Saxena in supporting parts.

Plot

She encounters Rehaan Khan (Aamir Khan), a tour guide who flirts with her while on her travels.

Malini Tyagi (Tabu) is a special intelligence agent dispatched to analyse the threat posed by the bomb detonation and the party responsible, the IKF, an independent group fighting for an independent Kashmir. Rehaan is revealed to be the man who set the bomb off, then pretended to die so that Zooni wouldn’t come seeking for him. He admits to loving Zooni, but also acknowledges that due to his perilous lifestyle, he will never see her again.

Rehaan goes on another expedition for the IKF seven years later. IKF possesses a nuclear bomb, but it needs to get its hands on the trigger, which is held by the army.

Tyagi has found out Rehaan’s plot and has dispatched men to stop him. Rehaan gets injured in the subsequent gunfight. He travels to a secluded residence in search of assistance.

When Zooni’s father gets the report, he confronts Rehaan about the trigger he found in his pocket. Zooni’s father is killed after Rehaan accidently tosses him off a precipice. He radios the IKF from an army officer’s home, but when the officer sees Rehaan, he murders him.

Zooni discovers her father’s body, and Rehaan claims he died. Zooni, on the other hand, subsequently sees the news story and discovers the trigger. She runs with her kid to the officer’s house, where she radios for assistance. Tyagi encourages her to put an end to Rehaan’s behaviour.

The next day, Rehaan appears and takes the trigger from Zooni, threatening to murder her and their son if he doesn’t. Rehaan’s grandpa, Zooni, shoots the IKF leader in the leg just as he is ready to pull the trigger.

Rehaan grabs his revolver and prepares to shoot her, but he can’t bring himself to do it. To stop him, Zooni shoots him again, this time fatally. Tyagi comes just in time to prevent the IKF from shooting Zooni. In Zooni’s embrace, Rehaan passes away.

Zooni and her kid subsequently pay a visit to her father’s and Rehaan’s graves, which are interred close to each other. Zooni tells her kid that his father did what he felt was right when he questions whether he was wrong.
